The Chair, Department of Regulatory and Quality Sciences, reports to the Dean and has the following administrative responsibilities in the School:
Serving as the departmentâs chief academic officer, overseeing the departmentâs contributions to the Schoolâs educational programs
Working in partnership with the associate deans to initiate and direct plans for faculty recruitment, retention, and advancement, all in compliance with School and University policies and procedures.
Managing department personnel activities, including staff evaluations, ensuring consistency in the enforcement of policies
Representing the department within the School, the University and with external constituencies and partners, on leadership bodies and in expanding the national and international profile of the department
Acting as the departmentâs chief administrative officer, managing the budget and accounts supporting the departmentâs functions
Mentoring junior faculty and graduate students in teaching, research and career development
Providing oversight of the teaching programs of the department and participating actively in the teaching of undergraduate and graduate students
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, PharmD, DRSc or another advanced degree, high-level academic and industry or governmental experience, and an established record of proven leadership and accomplishments in an area of regulatory sciences and clinical translational research.Â Applicants should have a record of accomplishment in scholarship, industry, teaching, and service commensurate with academic appointment at the rank of associate professor or full professor, depending on the assessed past professional and academic accomplishments.
