Budget Title: Senior Staff Associate (SL-5)
Salary: $72,000 - commensurate with qualifications and experience
Binghamton University seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to serve as the Director of the Harpur Edge in Harpur College of Arts and Sciences. The Harpur Edge works with Harpur students to enrich their academic experience by providing programming and funding for high impact experiences, such as research, internships, and connections with faculty and alumni. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the vision and mission of Harpur Edge, formulating its goals and objectives, expanding the programming, and tracking the outcomes. The position reports to the Harpur College Dean's Office.
The Director is responsible for the following functions:
Create and oversee programs and events for Harpur students
Collaborate with offices on campus, including career services, academic advising, residential life, the alumni office to develop and coordinate programs for Harpur students as well as the Director of Constituent Relations on key programs and alumni visits
Strategic budget planning and management in coordination with the Assistant Dean for Finance in Harpur
Manage the Harpur Edge office
Supervise professional and student staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
Supervise and lead all communications and marketing for Harpur Edge
Coordinate with Advancement and the Dean's office to engage alumni and donors including attending and presenting at alumni events
At least 5 years of applicable administrative experience in higher education
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
An understanding and appreciation of the value of a liberal arts education and at least 5 years applicable administrative experience in higher education
An advanced degree
Experience with event coordination
Prior supervisory experience
