Under general direction, produces, shoots, and edits videos for City and community organizations and performs other media functions and general duties in support of the Media Production Services Coordinator. Operates a variety of specialized electronic equipment. Creates long-format video programming, including meetings, lectures, community forums, concerts and more. Creates short-format video content for the City’s website, social media and cable TV channel – City Channel 4.
One year of college coursework in videography or related field from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body required or one-year experience in video production and editing or in a related field required. Experience working with the public or with diverse groups of people required. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required. Must be 18 years of age per Iowa Code 92.8. Must pass criminal background check.
Bachelor’s degree from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body in a program related to video communications and three years of experience in video production or in a related field preferred.
