The Global Master of Arts Program (GMAP) at The Fletcher School at Tufts University is a one-year graduate program in international affairs for mid- and senior-level professionals, which combines residency sessions, internet-mediated collaboration and faculty-produced multimedia content. GMAP is designed to provide unique global affairs educational opportunities to professionals who wish to continue working while studying.
Within this Program, admissions and marketing forms the key customer-facing role of recruiting students, shepherding their applications towards enrollment, and encouraging engagement with alumni. As part of this role, the admissions and marketing function assists the GMAP Director/Senior Associate Dean in developing admissions and marketing practices to promote the program and to increase the number of inquiries and successful applications on a yearly basis. Also in conjunction with the Director/Senior Associate Dean, GMAP Admissions, and Marketing, in close coordination with the school's office of development and alumni relations, works to maintain strong alumni engagement with the program after graduation.
The Admissions Coordinator coordinates admissions and marketing duties requiring initiative, creativity, and independent judgment and provides advanced coordination and administrative support to the Associate Director of Admissions and Marketing. She/he is often the first line of communication with a prospective student (via the online inquiry form, phone/Skype calls, walk-ins, and direct email correspondence). She/he acts as department resource in answering questions of prospective students and directs questions and concerns to the Associate Director of Admissions and Marketing or the Associate Director of GMAP. She/he is responsible for producing a variety of complex admissions documents, reports, and proposals, which can include the creation of admissions templates and marketing emails/campaigns, responding to inquiries on a daily/weekly basis, updating/designing application forms, data analysis reporting, and the development and editing of admissions and marketing materials (brochures, admissions admit packet, etc.). Assist in updating website and posting social media material. She/he organizes and maintains admissions and marketing files and databases, and updates applications or other forms for data entry, to include the online inquiry form, the prospective student database, the admissions report, and the student and alumni database. She/he is responsible for coordinating the GMAP application process, so as to provide an efficient and streamlined process for prospective students, the GMAP office, and the GMAP Committee on Admissions and Scholarships. She/he oversees processing of admissions and marketing expenses and invoices. She/he assists the Associate Director and the Director/Senior Associate Dean with GMAP advertising, admissions recruiting meetings and events, and travel arrangements. This may include coordinating logistics for meetings/events and research assistance. Where necessary, the Admissions Coordinator will also be called upon to travel to admissions events. Furthermore, while the Associate Director is out of the office, the Admissions and Marketing Coordinator may be responsible for handling phone/Skype call interviews with prospective students and/or admitted candidates. The Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating several GMAP alumni events throughout the year (Alumni Weekend, Alumni Happy Hours, Dinner with the Deans, Leadership Dialogue Events, etc.) and assisting with alumni database management. Lastly, She/he provides back-up (related to admissions, student services, and alumni weekend) for the residency sessions (3 times per year, each 2 weeks in length) and interacts with faculty, and with current and prospective GMAP students, as well as with GMAP and Fletcher alumni.
High School diploma and 5+ years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree and 0-3 years of related office experience
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Knowledge of university processes and databases
International experience preferred
