Legal Technology (LT) is part of Corporate Technology's Controls, Legal & Regulatory Technology organization, which delivers technology solutions to support Legal as they advise the business on applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally, and assess and measure compliance and related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's compliance control environment. Legal Technology is the steward for the design, build and management for the firm's Legal Technology portfolio across all Lines of Business and global regions. Legal Technology is responsible for partnering with our clients on evolving business capabilities, improving end user experience with our solutions and services, and ensuring that we continue to provide continuous improvement on the systems that are relied upon across the firm. Legal Technology supports legal functions covering Matter & Spend Management, eDiscovery Platform Services, Knowledge Management and Lifecycle Management.
Learn the JP Morgan Legal environment and systems
Work with business and IT partners to understand their needs/requirements
Analyze/Document existing database structures and data
Creation/Enhancement of physical and logical data models
Support development teams in the denormalization of physical data models
Create initial DDL for development teams, where necessary
Research new data technologies applicable to near term needs of legal business
Support development teams working within an Agile development environment
Support multiple Corporate and Firmwide data initiatives as an architectural representative of legal
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
3 years of database analysis/design and/or data architecture experience.
3 years of application development experience.
Solid understanding of database concepts and data modeling principles
Solid SQL skills (DML and DDL)
Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or other relational Database systems
Experience with Erwin, or similar data modeling tool
Passion for the Information/Data field
Enjoys both detailed/abstract thinking, and shifts easily between the two
Inquisitive nature, who enjoys learning new concepts, approaches and technologies
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
Experience with database procedural languages, such as Oracle PL/SQL, and database procedural objects such as packages, procedures, functions and triggers
Experience identifying database performance issues and recommending solutions
Familiarity with middleware tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Web Services, Kafka, etc
Application design experience, providing the ability to understand the impact a data design or strategy may have on the development of an application
Prior experience with legal and/or eDiscovery applications
