We are seeking a professional like you to be accountable for providing the full range of human resources support for the Kaolin (EVI) Site while upholding the HR compliance requirements and processes approved by the North American Human Resources Leadership Team via the Manager Resource Team (MRT), MyHR, Labor Relations, Talent Acquisition and other HR Centers of Excellence (COE).
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day labor/employee relations, performance management, non-exempt talent acquisition, non-exempt training, compensation, benefits, and legal compliance. You will partner with the corporate HR team(s) and site leadership to provide comprehensive human resources services including counseling, coaching and guidance while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and BASF policies. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to employee/labor relations, legal compliance, recruitment & selection, policies & procedures, training & development, performance management, compensation administration, and organizational development.

You will use your skills and education to:
Primary management representative in day-to-day relations with union leadership
Provide guidance and direction to managers for issue resolution and improved employee performance.
Evaluate employee relations and work-related issues and develops appropriate solutions within the framework of BASF policy and procedures.
Advocate, promote and effectively manage the site environment, evaluating the site culture and employee relations issues; and ensure that management is aware of and proactively responds to employee engagement issues.
Member of the Labor Relations and manufacturing HR network for BASF Corporation
Ensure alignment with Labor Relations governance and strategy
Coordinate and manage the performance management process, ensuring clear communication to the organization, compliance, consistency and objectivity.
Provides leadership to ensure performance review evaluations are administered fairly and effectively.
Coordinate and manage annual talent reviews process, ensuring clear communication, compliance, consistency and objectivity.
Ensure alignment with BASF's performance management philosophy and practice
Develop, implement and manage the talent acquisition strategy for non-exempt positions, including talent acquisition COE employer branding solution
Design and implement female and minority selection strategy and metrics
Ensure adherence to the talent and diversity challenge per North American business scorecard
Ensure talent acquisition COE metrics, & Applicant Tracking System (ATS) data accuracy is met
Training & Development
Coordinate and manage training, development and succession planning activities, ensuring appropriate plans are in place for key employees.
Engage the organization to enable cross developmental opportunities for employees.
Identify and analyze internal and external trends, determining training needs for the site and translates the requirements into training and development programs.
Coordinate and integrate the Talent Management process to include detailed analysis of potential talent gaps and development of career plans.
Anticipate workforce planning / management issues and develop workforce strategies.
Leverage corresponding COEs and other parts of the HR model, such as PCT, in order to explore solutions and vendor relationships
Compensation & Benefit & Payroll Administration
Support current compensation and benefit processes and programs.
In collaboration with corporate compensation - assess job descriptions, job grade analysis, and salary-survey data for internal equity and market competitiveness alignment.
Coordinate the process to ensure appropriate approvals and communicate recommended annual salary increase guidelines
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related discipline.
Graduate degree, MBA and/or PHR/SPHR designation would be considered a strong asset.(BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.)
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive professional Human Resources experience within a manufacturing site
Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing site labor relations experience
Previous experience in working within a fast paced, full service business environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. state and federal laws and governmental compliance requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of current and progressive principles and practices of human resources management.
Demonstrated ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures and other business issues.
Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written), interact, and influence with all levels including production technicians, staff associates, and senior management.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
Demonstrated use of sound judgment and ability to make decisions in a fair & consistent manner.
Act independently regarding most operational activities and interacts with manager usually on a consulting and reporting basis.
