The Lead Financial Analyst will provide ongoing support for several portfolios within Citi Retail Services, preparing the P&L and Balance Sheet forecast/plan/outlook. The role is viewed as the subject matter expert and is expected to identify key drivers and inputs as part of overall forecasting process. This person should be a self-starter who can work independently and focus on key deliverables. This role reports to the SVP of FP&A and will have significant exposure to the Business CFOs and Partner Management teams.
Forecasting - Develops annual plan and forecasts of the balance sheet, and P&L for the assigned portfolios working closely with the Business Analysis finance teams and partner management teams.
Leadership of local and off-shore resources supporting FP&A functions
Prepares monthly updates for expected current quarter performance.
Develops and maintains key financial models and prepares system uploads for all forecasts and projections.
Identifies financial risks and opportunities and communicates to key members of the finance teams.
Analysis – Develops, prepares, and presents analysis, presentations, and reporting for internal management on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis. Analysis will include segmentation of key portfolio drivers and metrics, balance composition, and yield/revenue analysis.
Develops and prepares periodic reporting and analysis for clients.
Month-end close – Prepares month end financial reports, including detailed causal variance analysis, P&L statements, and key financial metrics.
Communicates results and analysis to partner management teams and finance stakeholders.
Work closely with business analysis teams to develop, track, and forecast monthly marketing spend and incorporate changes to business partners’ strategies.
Must identify partner impacts and be able to communicate that to business CFO’s.
Perform ad hoc portfolio analysis as required.
Strong working knowledge of Excel; Essbase/Hyperion, knowledge preferred
Written and verbal communication skills – role is required to be able to present multiple and varying key themes in a concise manner to Business Senior Management
Able to multi-task – conflicting time pressures during close or forecast periods require prioritization skills and the ability to work well under pressure
