Audit Department Description
The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, executive management and regulators. Audit is charged with providing an independent evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the overall system of internal control. The function brings a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organisations governance, risk management and internal control processes. Reporting functionally to the Audit Committee and administratively to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Audit employs more than 1,000 professionals worldwide.
Audit Practices is responsible for maintaining and enhancing practices, policies and tools used by the Audit Department globally. This team centrally manages the Audit Department's core business processes, partnering with senior members of the department to continually enhance these functions. The primary responsibilities of the team include audit practices and supporting tools, quality assurance, internal and external reporting (including Board), support Regulatory interactions , department technology infrastructure and automated auditing support, training and campus recruiting.
This position encompasses the execution and delivery of a strategic, effective and consistent global regulatory management program. The individual will play a key role in supporting Audit's Regulatory Engagement Manager ("REM") in the execution of their responsibilities as well as helping to ensure the efficacy of department controls, policies and procedures related to global regulatory requirements and firmwide standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support in the execution of the department's global regulatory activities and interactions
Seek innovative ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Audit's growing regulatory function, including the use of any supporting technology tools
Prepare internal reporting and ongoing analyses of all required regulatory engagements for Senior Management, and where relevant, suggest enhancements and/or changes to increase knowledge of the regulatory matters being monitored globally
