Department: VM: DEAN'S OFFICE - 072000 Department Description: The School of Veterinary Medicine is a large and complex organization engaged in teaching, research, clinical service, outreach, extension, and public service. The School is composed of 6 academic departments, numerous centers and institutes, the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and affiliated units located on the Davis campus and off-site locations. SVM has approximately 300 Senate/Federation appointees and processes approximately 90 advancement actions per year. The academic personnel shared service center oversees the recruitment, advancement, compensaion and retention of all academic personnel. Under the direction of the Director, the staff works collaboratively to provide high-level analytical support to the Dean, Executive Associate Dean, Executive Assistant Dean, Department Chairs, Center Directors, Managers, and staff.

Job Summary: The Academic Personnel Shared Service Center, working under the supervision of the Director, has overall responsibility for administration of the academic personnel process in the School of Veterinary Medicine. This position has independent responsibility and serves as the primary resource for Academic Senate and Federation advancement actions; APM 025 reporting and compliance; policy and procedure review; handling confidential and sensitive information; providing analysis and reporting on salary issues pertaining to range adjustments, equity programs, and SVM specific off-scale salary spreadsheets; development of Standard Operating Procedures; provides analysis for the SVM specific M/P vote and evaluations; and conducts research and provides solutions for unit leadership.
Physical Demands: - Maneuver, lift and transport 30 pounds of equipment and supplies within short distances.

Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated experience and advanced knowledge of academic personnel policies and procedures and the ability to interpret policies and the impact of such policies on the school.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and applied problem solving skills to research and analyze complex information to derive conclusions and provide innovative solutions.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to effectively respond in a professional manner by email, in person, or by telephone.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize and handle projects and workload to meet multiple and conflicting deadlines.
Experience maintaining a high degree of discretion, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality, and privacy.
Demonstrated skills to utilize Microsoft Office suite, Outlook email and calendaring, and internet.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with UC Davis academic personnel.
Familiarity with Academic Senate and Academic Federation policies.
Experience with MyInfoVault (MIV), Aphid, CREST, CERE, Box, Sharepoint.
Experience with CFAH AES active projects, Kuali, PubMed, and other government reporting websites.
