The Senior IT Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, executing and finalizing solutions related to new and existing products, modules and services. The Senior IT PM is responsible for leading project teams by understanding project scopes and objectives as well as the role and function of each project team member. This position works with internal and external stakeholders to bring structure while implementing complex, project-based processes to bring increased efficiency in the delivery of all projects and services and in turn, enhanced customer satisfaction. Coaches the development of other IT PMs. Responsible for implementing complex/large projects.

Manage financial objectives through financial requirement, preparing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
Manages interdependencies among multiple related and unrelated projects whose coordinated delivery is required to achieve higher organizational objectives
Demonstrates ability to forecast resource needs, identify and break work down into discrete and measureable tasks, sets priorities, defines dependencies, schedules activities, prepare acceptance criteria and organize work for large, complex projects requiring diverse functions and/or operations
Facilitate planning, implementation and stabilization activities for IT approved initiatives
Forecast and manage resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) requirements to meet project goals
Helping others identify and explore the consequence potential decisions
Creating opportunities for others to work with a variety of colleagues
Acts as a "go-to" resource for colleagues with less experience
Provides ongoing support and coaching in a constructive manner to increase employees' effectiveness
Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization
Provide coaching by showing others how to do a task or activity
Create opportunities for others to use new skills
Foster relationships with stakeholders to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
Assess project constraints to identify root cause analysis - gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem
Manages the overall coordination, status reporting and stability of major project efforts, ensuring project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope and resource requirements
Demonstrates ability to deliver complicated information effectively and efficiently, selecting the appropriate message for the audience
Utilizes multiple sources of data to analyze and resolve complex problems; may take a new perspective on existing solution
This position does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reports administratively and functionally to VUIT's Project Management Office Manager.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree is necessary.
Master's degree is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification is preferred.
Experience and Skills
5-7 years of project management experience is necessary.
Minimum of 7 years of project management experience is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience managing Infrastructure, Software Development and Vendor Deployment projects is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of project management processes is necessary.
Experience using project management tools (i.e. Planview, MS Project etc.) is necessary.
Experience with Planview Enterprise project management tool is highly preferred.
Experience managing different types of projects (i.e. Infrastructure, Software Development, Vendor Deployment etc.) is necessary.
Proficient understanding of project management methodologies (i.e. Agile, Waterfall Scrum etc.) is necessary.
Strong technical management and understanding is necessary.
