We would like you to help lead the oversight of our team members who are based in Scotland to help them develop an impressive range of commercial consulting skills. Our Operational Risk and Risk Transformation advisory team offers unrivalled depth of experience in providing solutions based on our client needs. We design, implement, and provide assurance over business processes to strengthen our clients approaches for non-financial risk management and to gain efficiencies and desired competitive advantages from Risk Transformations.
Operational risk management driven by regulatory pressures and the desire for competitive advantage are key to our rapidly growing Risk Transformation advisory services. Joining our team will enable you to work with a broad range of clients, diverse both in size and industry. You will be helping to drive and capitalize on market opportunities in the insurance sector and in FS in the Scottish market.
Your role We are seeking a candidate with a proven background in Operational Risk and Risk Transformation and track record of leading teams and relationships, portfolio management and thought leadership.
Your focus will be on providing innovative solutions to predominantly insurance clients across risk, compliance and governance to help achieve our ambitious growth plans for our Operational Risk and Risk Transformation advisory team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing strong long-term client relationships to further enhance the Deloitte footprintÂ
Becoming industry recognised as a trusted business advisor on non-financial risk initiatives; especially in the insurance sector.
Playing an active role in identifying and pursuing sales and business development opportunitiesÂ
Manage the progress of engagements and reporting to senior client management.
Effectively communicating messages using appropriate channels for the management of programme stakeholdersÂ
Engagement leadership, including developing fee estimates, managing budgets and leading Engagement Teamâ€™s project based work.
Managing a portfolio of engagements and business case developments.
Working to tight deadlines, often requiring prioritisation of numerous concurrent project deadlines and requirements.
Thought leadership related to Operational Risk and Risk Transformation and other non-financial risk projects and business development where appropriate.Â

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow for your primary office location with frequent domestic and occasional international travel.
Suggested work pattern: Permanent full-time. This is a permanent role (typical hours are 9.00 â€" 5.30pm) with a degree of flexibility as part of our agile ways of working.
Your professional experience
Expert in Operational Risk and Risk Transformation in financial services; in particular across the insurance sector.Â
Experienced in Risk Culture in Financial Services and broader Enterprise Risk Management frameworks.
Excellent of building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
Proven experience of leading successful teams and managing large engagements on time and within budgetÂ
Capability of operating with senior level executives and adept at stakeholder management.Â
Excellent negotiation, communication, networking and influencing skills and contract management experience.
Good problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and deliver effectively with what can often be ambiguous requirements.
Excellent experience of people leadership including in diverse environments.
Proven with successfully developing staff and mentoring team members.Â
Degree qualified (minimum 2:1) or equivalent.
The ability to travel to client sites as required by this position.
