Responsible for moderate to complex projects associated with the maintenance of tax records and the preparation of all or specifically assigned tax returns or related reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares and reviews various domestic business license and unclaimed property tax returns and related documents.
Prepares annual gross receipt apportionment schedules, and State Tax apportionment schedules.
Assists in domestic business license and unclaimed property audits by collecting information to provide to the Auditors and preparing Audit workpapers
Assists in responding to tax notices from various state and local tax agencies and inquiries from the field.
Prepares monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals.
Conducts tax research and implements approved tax strategies; ability to comprehend tax law.
Responsible for monitoring tax law changes and maintaining tax compliance in all jurisdictions.
Prepares business and occupation tax returns and related schedules.
Conducts monthly due diligence and analysis for A/P, Payroll and A/R.
Communicates effectively with representatives of state and local governments, field personnel, and vendors
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and a minimum 2-4 years of related experience. 8-10 years of related experience and/or training preferred. Applicant will be required to pass a general accounting test.
Certificates and/or Licenses
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Functional and Technical Skills
Individual must possess strong functional and technical skills. Position requires advanced computer skills, to include excel Position requires strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills. Individual must be proactive, a self-starter, and be able to work independently with minimum supervision. Position requires strong project management skills. Knowledge of Business Licenses, State Escheat Law, Revenue Apportionment and PeopleSoft desired.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required, as well as strong organizational and analytical skills. Must be able to comprehend, analyze and interpret various types of business documents; as well as write clear and concise reports and memos. In addition, applicant must possess the ability to clearly and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, and interact effectively with management, employees, representatives of state and local governments, and field personnel.
Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations. Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate to advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts intermediate to advanced financial analysis. Advanced understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts preferred. Ability to assist with budget and forecast preparation preferred. Follows accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing CBRE financial interests are protected.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
