Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital isa 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Centerbetween Dallas and Austin.
This 38-bed telemetry monitored nursing unit providesthe opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging in age fromAdults to Geriatrics. The conditionsthat are within the scope of service for 4 south include but are not limited tothe following:
Myocardial Infarction; including STEMIï¿½s; ï¿½NSTEMIï¿½
Coronary Artery Bypass
Pre/Post Heart Transplant Patients
Patients post Mitral Valve replacement
Patients post Aortic Valve replacement
Percutaneous Trans-luminal coronary angioplasty with or without stent placement
Patients with Congestive Heart Failure
Vascular surgeries including abdominal aortic aneurysm procedures
Thoracic surgeries to include lobectomy and thoracotomy patients
Patients with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)
Cardiogenic Intravenous Medication Therapy II.
Cardiothoracic Surgery, CVICU & EP Lab

TheCardiac Care Unit works hand in hand with multidisciplinary teams of socialservices, case management, physical therapy, respiratory therapy and dietary.Care of patients on the Cardiac Care Unit are grounded on the principals ofbest evidence based practices to provide quality care to the patients. Requirements ofthe Ideal Candidate:
ï¿½Graduateof RN School of Nursing
ï¿½ADNrequired; BSN preferred
ï¿½Mustbe licensed to practice professional nursing by the Board of Nurse Examinersfor the State of Texas
ï¿½Minimum18 Months of RN experience, Acute Careor Hospital setting preferred
ï¿½BasicLife Support (BLS) Required.
ï¿½Functionscompetently and effectively under pressure and emergency situations
