Responsible for driving the businesses commodity strategy. Continuously improve the Company’s purchasing practices by identifying and leading efforts to proactively consolidate commodity spend, manage supplier performance, reduce inventory, mitigate procurement risks, gain visibility to total spend and reduce total costs. Perform spend analysis to ensure Best in Class commodity leverage and other cost optimization opportunities to generate cost savings for assigned categories. A cts as the internal team leader and primary contact for negotiation and supplier management with the TBCT supply base, responsible for the commodity strategy on a global basis.
The Commodity Analyst will support the development, implementation and management of global strategies to provide the segment with optimal inventory levels, lead-times, cycle times, supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance. Operates with limited supervision.
This position is/will:
Drive alternate sourcing, supplier consolidation and localization in order to maximize pricing leverage, and cycle time improvements.
Prepare Business Cases, including ROI models, and effectively present Cost Savings proposals to appropriate parties for approval and qualification.
Continually identify and implement new opportunities for Cost Savings and Cost Avoidance and proactively track the progress toward these objectives.
Negotiate business T & C's relating to: payment terms, delivery terms, inventory strategies, lead times, price reduction and other strategic issues with key suppliers.
Lead in the development and execution of regional negotiation strategies with suppliers, including specific targets for pricing, service, quality, and inventory.
Primary supplier relationship manager for specific commodity suppliers for Terumo BCT spend
Drive and participate in Cost Break down Analysis projects with the supply base to find areas of savings opportunities from both sides.
Define and review the Preferred Supplier List taking into account supplier performance, print position and easy of doing business in order to establishing regional sourcing strategies and consolidate the supply base.
Provide rigorous analysis of spend data and market trends/dynamics by site to prioritize and launch sourcing initiatives within designated spend/commodity categories.
Provide monthly feedback on supplier development, alternate regional supply sources, raw material costs, commodity pricing trends and supply/demand situations that could impact the business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement/sourcing/purchasing. SAP experience highly preferred.
Large, multi-national, medical device company experience preferred.
Operational Excellence (Lean, Six Sigma, or Similar) experience preferred.
Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.

Highly self-motivated team player who can work effectively with management, business unit personnel, and other stakeholders.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
APICS and/or CPSM certification or willingness to work towards same.
An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.
Willing to Travel regional and globally as required up to 25%.
