The Catalog Librarian facilitates discovery and access to the library's physical and electronic collections by creating, maintaining, and enhancing bibliographic metadata in Chastek Library's integrated library system and discovery platform. This position also manages government documents receiving, and physical processing of library materials.
This position insures efficient and timely discovery of library resources by law library patrons through accurate application of current national and international cataloging/metadata standards and practices.
Master’s degree in Library Science (or equivalent) from an ALA accredited institution.
Professional cataloging experience.
Experience working with an integrated library system and metadata tools including, OCLC Connexion, Class Web, MarcEdit.
A strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
