Chief Operating Officer - Pershing (Executive Manager, General Management)
The Chief OperatingOfficer directs, administers and oversees the operational activities of theorganization in accordance with internal policies, external regulations and thecompany's strategic priorities and objectives. In partnership with the CEO, the COO provides vision,leadership, and management to ensure that the company has the properoperational controls, administrative and reporting procedures. The COO is also responsible for developingthe people strategy to ensure that the right talent and resources are in placeto meet the organization's priorities for growth, financial strength andoperating efficiency.
Successfulcandidate will possess breadth and depth of experience in the wealth, brokerageand/or advisory businesses, experience with client management and technologyprojects, as well as knowledge of overall competitive landscape. Understandsadvisor and client technology including future trends. Would additionally bringknowledge of market structure and strong risk acumen.
Provide day-to-day leadership management to the executive committee at the direction of the CEO.
Direct and oversee budget management and results, along with other financial criteria to preserve the capital funds invested in theenterprise.
Participate in thedevelopment and preparation of short-term and long-term financial and strategicbusiness planning.
Responsible for talentdevelopment for the organization; inclusive of ensuring that appropriatesuccession benches are in place for top leadership and critical roles.
Spearhead thedevelopment, communication and Implementation of effective growth,transformation and long term business goals.
Directs the developmentand implementation of procedures and controls to promote effective communicationand collaboration of Information flow, and thereby ensure management controland direction of the enterprise.
Operations and Regulatory
Measure effectiveness of all internal and external processes. Provide timely, accurate and complete reporting on the operating environment of the company.
Ensure that allactivities and operations are performed In compliance with local, state andfederal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Maintains all thenecessary and required regulatory licenses to carry out duties andresponsibilities.
Foster asuccess-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
Focuses on internal andclient priorities; engenders rapport and trust from a 3,500 person team.
Fosters a culture ofinnovation and teamwork to achieve business targets and contributions to theorganization; possesses a propensity to acquire new skills with high degree oflearning agility.
Educates theorganization to ensure there is a common purpose and vision; partners closelywith the CEO to share duties and responsibilities.
Global business acumennecessary to navigate expanding organization and changing regulatory landscape.
Bachelor's degree orthe equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
Must be current andactive on all necessary Securities Industry Licenses.
15 plus years of totalwork experience with at least 3-5 years in management preferred. Experience insecurities or financial services preferred.
