Enhance risk governance within unit by driving the unit operational risk committee or equivalent forum (as well as appointed secretariat for BCC forum)
Ensure timely implementation and socialisation of corporate operational risk policies and standards within unit.
Develop and ensure implementation of unit-specfic operational risk policies, where relevant and procedures.
Promote risk & control awareness, including ensuring operational risk trainings are conducted and training plans are established and complied with
Share operational risk best practices within the unit via monthly socialisation calls within risk teams across the DBSV Group
Ensure timely completion of unit RCSA programme and provide guidance on the identification/ assessment of risks and controls.
Timely reporting/ escalating of risk event/ significant incidents or issues
Review and validate risk events reported for factual accuracy, proper categorization of event, cause, effect, and ensure that proper action plans and controls are established to correct and prevent event from recurring
Provide guidance on operational risk procedures and controls processes
Collate, analyse, monitor and report KRI for the unit, ensuring that proper action plans are established to address issues.
Track and monitor issue/action plan arising from RCSA, risk event, KRI, regulatory inspection, audit or other risk issues and alert unit management of potential and/ or actual past due issues.
analyze and report unit operational risk profile (including or losses, RCSA issues, KRI trend, compliance breaches, business continuity readiness or other significant issues) to unit management, with proposed action plans to address the issues.
Liason for business intiative discussions (NPAs) and review of NPA documents
Timely collation of information required by use of various parties, eg, Capital Markets, RMG-MLR, RMG-OR, etc
Execute BCP responsibilities as per listed in the UORM roles and responsibilties.
Ad hoc projects assigned by COO
8 years of experience in banking financial institutions
University degree or equivalent, with major study in finance, business administration, accountancy, economics
Experience in Operational Risk Management, familiar with ORM concepts, policies, tools, MIS and reporting, and conversant in Basel requirements for operational risk
Good project management skills, presentation and inter-personal skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong team player with ability to work professionally with team members and workgroups formed with other business/support units
