BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW
The role of this Compliance Officer is to work within the team providing compliance coverage for marketing and distribution teams within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The team also provides compliance coverage for GSAM's Alternative Investments & Manager Selection business. Core functions of the team includes providing advice on the sales and distribution process, reviewing and approving financial promotions, conducting due diligence on third party distributors' of GSAM funds and alternatives managers, running surveillance of our sales process, and drafting policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will sit within the marketing and distribution compliance team and provide coverage across GSAM's key asset classes including Fixed Income, Equity, Quantitative Strategies, Global Portfolio Solutions and Alternative Investments.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing advice and compliance oversight to GSAM personnel on the marketing and sale of products and services in EMEA, as well as other compliance, regulatory and reputational issues
Products include pooled vehicles, separately managed accounts, sub-advised products, hedge funds, private equity fund of funds, and hedge fund of funds
Work alongside the Business and Legal to conduct due diligence of third party distributors and external private equity, public equity and hedge fund managers
Review and approval of financial promotions including marketing materials, performance reports, and DDQs
Conduct forensic reviews on specific areas of coverage to ensure GSAM's sales process remains robust, as well as the activities and actions of individual personnel
Creating and implementing compliance training programs to educate GSAM personnel on applicable compliance requirements, legal issues and regulatory changes
Recommend enhancements to current Compliance processes, policies and procedures
Help with implementation of key regulatory changes which may have an impact to GSAM
Provide support in executing the firm's Compliance Monitoring Programme, as required
At least 3 years asset management compliance experience
Good knowledge and familiarity with financial instruments and regulatory issues relating to asset managers
Good knowledge or experience in: UK Financial Promotions Regime, UCITS, AIFMD, MiFID II
A quick learner and self-starter, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Work well under pressure and have a positive, hands-on, "can do" attitude, especially when working under tight time frames
A critical thinker with strong analytical, organizational, researching and fact-gathering skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively summarize, communicate and defend positions
A proactive team player, who enjoys working collaboratively across teams and disciplines
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word a plus
European language skills an advantage
