St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School Advancement Office is responsible for engaging, cultivating and soliciting over 7,000 constituents including alumni, current parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty and staff. The Senior Director of Advancement Services is responsible for overseeing the facilitation of fundraising, gift processing, constituent tracking and pipeline management, relationship management, research and reporting, stewardship, gift acknowledgement, events and database management. This position will be responsible for the understanding and implementation of industry-standard best practices and will liaise with the Business Office on matters of compliance. This position will ensure data integrity across the Advancement function. As the school embarks on its most ambitious campaign to-date, this position will be instrumental in providing in-depth support across various facets of the Advancement team and helping to standardize and implement metrics to ensure success. This position reports directly to the Chief Advancement Officer and serves as a member of the leadership and decision-making team within the Advancement Office, while overseeing a team of two, plus one cross-departmental position. This position is a full-time, twelve-month position.
A bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in advancement services, advancement, event-planning, or other relevant areas. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills are required, including the ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data and statistical models. Ability to provide recommendations based on analysis in support of strong Advancement practices is important. This position requires proficiency with database structures, including an aptitude for database report writing tools and a demonstrated aptitude for new and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and the ability to translate team and program needs into action-oriented plans. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with the school's internal stakeholders, while maintaining strict confidentiality. Attention to detail is critical and the ability to adopt processes and best practices befitting of the school is key. The ability to juggle multiple, unique projects, with thoughtfulness and strategy is paramount. Other qualifications include: a sense of humor, effective time management skills, proficiency with Google tools, knowledge of Raiser's Edge or other database.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of team of two full-time staff who have direct responsibility over data and data-base management, and stewardship and events, respectfully. Provide part-time management of School Archivist, a cross-school function.
Provide oversight of portfolio and prospect management systems and manage the tracking of strategic metrics, which serve as a dashboard of indicators for fundraising performance
Work closely with CAO and other key Advancement staff to develop a strong donor pipeline from Annual Fund through Principal Giving levels
In partnership with the CAO, develop Advancement Office processes to create greater efficiencies
Develop and conduct strong prospect research practices, including web and specialized software research, prospect identification and analytics
Provide oversight of donor recognition and cultivation/stewardship activities and events
Support a culture of philanthropy through creation of annual report and other vehicles for impact
