Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III for Inpatient Services of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The Mental Health Clinician III provides comprehensive evaluation, assessment and therapeutic intervention to address the psychological, emotional and social needs of child and adolescent (ages 4-17 years) and adult patients as assigned. Formulates an evaluation, develops and implements treatment plans, conducts individual, group, and family therapy and provides case management functions.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Provides psychotherapeutic interventions/services in accordance with accepted professional and ethical standards of licensing body and University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC).
Consistently involves patients and/or family members as clinically indicated in the assessment and the development of treatment plans and treatment plan reviews.
Identifies appropriate resources for patients and families based on assessed needs; performs case management functions and completes all forms, correspondence and reports necessary to ensure overall coordination of treatment services.
Effectively collaborates as clinically indicated with other staff members, referral sources, community resources, service providers, case management organizations, families and support systems.
Maintains and supervises the maintenance of clinical records in compliance with UBHC and Joint Commission (JC) standards.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in mental health discipline.
Licensure to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for outreach.
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
