Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Data Governance or assigned administrator, the ETL Analyst/Data Modeler has responsibilities in the planning, design, development, maintenance and ongoing support of the university-wide enterprise dimensional data warehouse including but not limited to finance, human resources, student, instruction, research, financial aid, admissions, and student success.
The position is responsible for developing ETL solutions primarily utilizing industry standard technologies. In this capacity, the developer will perform source system analysis to identify potential data quality issues, develop required ETL mappings to stage and integrate data to specifications while providing complete documentation, test plans and results. The ETL developer will also be responsible for monitoring the ETL processes by building build alerts and sensors necessary to maintain the data integrity and notify the internal teams if issues arise.

1.A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major course work in computer science, information technology or related field. 2.Three or more years of experience designing and modeling data warehouse applications for delivery on an enterprise scale. 3.Experience working in a higher education technology environment. 4.Experience with Ellucian Banner and Oracle PL/SQL 5.Experience developing ETL programs using SSIS
1.Ability to write complex Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts; experience with query tuning and optimization in MS-SQL Server and/or Oracle. 2.Knowledge of formal data flow analysis methodologies, including the demonstrated ability to design data warehouse data models and implement dimensional data models, star schemas, and slowly changing dimensions. 3.Ability to design data structures to maximize efficiency and flexibility, including demonstrated ability with ETL to develop and maintain extract, transform, and load (ETL) code including ETL code to handle incremental data loads and slowly changing dimensions. 4.Ability to maintain the data warehouse application platform including application patching and configuration. 5.Ability to design, build and automate data service APIs. 6.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. 7.A solid understanding of Ralph Kimball Data Warehouse design methodologies. 8.Ability to communicate complex, technical application issues clearly to non-technical parties orally and in writing. 9.Prioritize and manage assigned projects by work schedules and task timelines. 10.Work with attention to detail and independently with minimum supervision.
