FINANCE AND OPERATIONS MANAGER , Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)-Finance and Operations Group , to support finance and operations for the planning period of an expected long-term MIT-Government of Indonesia (GOI) partnership. This program will include awarding grants to MIT faculty and researchers to conduct exploratory work in Indonesia as the basis for longer-term research partnerships. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of grant management including program planning, timelines, budget, invoicing, and creating financial reports; managing and coordinating information sessions for groups of faculty; advertising and accepting proposals from MIT faculty and preparing them for advisory committee review; overseeing and coordinating services from MIT to support the planning effort, including arranging and participating in meetings of faculty and administrators on progress during this planning phase; and establishing and monitoring subawards, approving invoices, and monitoring receipt of deliverables.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least five years' program management experience that includes administrative and financial experience; experience managing international programs from a U.S. base (including managing and monitoring funds for international awards) and operational experience working abroad; meticulous attention to detail; and strong interpersonal, organizational, business writing, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously, adhere to deadlines, and follow through; collaborate and work with others to create trusted client relationships. Should be comfortable with change and ambiguity; moving between senior stakeholders and more tactical operations; and working both in the academic world and in a dynamic, intense, fast-paced start-up environment. PREFERRED : experience in an academic institution; working knowledge of Salesforce and academic policies and processes; experience working in and knowledge of Indonesia, including any knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia.
