The Ohio State University at Lima seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor. The appointment will be made in the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology at The Ohio State University and begin in August 2020.
The department seeks an evolutionary biologist or geneticist with a strong commitment to the teaching, research, and outreach missions of The Ohio State University. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate surveys and major courses in their area of expertise, and serve as an advisor and research mentor within the Biology and Zoology majors. Teaching duties may include a mix of introductory and upper-level courses: BIO 1101 introductory biology for non-biology majors, honors biology (BIO 1113H and BIO 1114H), MOLGEN 4500 Genetics, and EEOB 3310 Evolution. In addition, the position will require the potential for a distinguished record of service and scholarly research. Candidates must have a PhD in hand at the time of appointment; ABD candidates will be considered; post-graduate teaching experience is preferred. Salary is competitive. Preference will be given to candidates who will reside in the Lima area.
