Provides support to the goals/ mission of the Agency by providing collaborative, analytical and quality services between Workforce Services and other departments. Will collaborate & partner with internal and external positions. The position will be responsible for client recruitment, assisting with job placement, meeting with employers and upkeep of records pertaining to this activity and administering certification exams.
Responsible for recruitment, assisting with job placement
Interface and build relationship with employers to identify job placement opportunities for clients
May liaise between departments to ensure ongoing communication and problem solving, including attending business services team meetings, updating orientation and other presentations as needed
Coordinate with other Workforce Services Specialists and personell, taking notes and creating reports for the team; initiating dialogue with community partners
Coordinate partner meetings representing the program; responsible for quality and internal monitoring of the program requirements
Assists in the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of program performance against plans, may include tracking, monitoring and ordering support services at multiple locations
Assist in the preparation of required departmental, agency and funder reports
Assist with the monitoring and coordination of processes for data sharing, updates, revision control as well as coordinating ongoing projects
Participate in promoting various training services department and programs and recruiting suitable candidates, which may include Rapid Response meetings and presentations
May assist with the preparation of proposals and grants including the collection of data to complete status and/or reports for funders
Contributes to the development of departmental goals and objectives; represents the department or function on projects and may perform in project leadership role
May interface with businesses and may post positions for clients on job boards
Coordinates and may attend community resource fairs and other job search activities required by the funder(s)
May travel to various locations, as well as employer and funder locations, to build relationships and identify opportunities for clients
May carry a workforce services caseload at multiple locations
Administrates certification exams
Checks in examinees, verifies identification, and explains the exam process. Monitors examinees while testing
Understands and complies with all testing procedures. Maintains a secure testing environment and responsible for ensuring testing rooms are clean and orderly
Communicates with internal departments and/or testing organization to investigate and fix technical issues
Strictly adheres to company policies using careful judgment
Performs other related duties as required or assigned
Client/Colleague Interface – Internal/External:
Coordinates with outside agencies including the one-stops, employers, business associations, and other partners to ensure consistent flow of services and benefits and maintain accurate, timely and complete documentation
Networks and collaborates with senior personnel; collaboration with individuals to provide reports regarding workforce development/services; interorganizational and outside contact, collaboration with individuals to provide workforce development/services and assistance to programs in areas such as: training, client/employer connections and other workforce development related programs/services
Knowledge or Expertise:
Self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks and priorities, meet deadlines, and demonstrate consistent reliable follow- through
High initiative, outstanding organizational skills, clear attention to detail and the ability to follow-through.
Knowledge of or direct work experience with employment/training government programs
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access); knowledge of social service government systems strongly preferred
Certified Pearson Vue Administrator preferred
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business or other related field OR 6+ years of relevant workforce development experience
Minimum 2-5 years’ experience program operations/reporting/quality assurance ideally with a social service agency
Must possess requisite motor skills (e.g., stand, walk, bend, reach, etc.) to perform light housekeeping duties (e.g., vacuuming, sanitizing keyboards, office trash, etc.(before and after testing)
Must be to able to occasionally lift/carry up to 20 lbs. and work independently
