Information Technology - Media Services is seeking an individual to lead our Saint Louis class production team in delivering live two-way distance classes and producing other videography and media services.
Successful candidates will have proven records of success in project management, staff development, distance learning and operational management of technically complex services.
This position will join the leadership team of Information Technology and work in close collaboration with academic departments, enrollment management and other campus partners involved in advancing the academic mission of the university.
Nature of Work
Bridges technology solutions by providing technical support to faculty in use of technology applications while reinforcing pedagogical best practices.
Acts as application administrator for enterprise educational technologies such as learning management systems (LMS), lecture capture systems, streaming servers, academic content repositories, etc.
Promotes and facilitates utilization of educational technologies, including strategic and tactical support programs for instructors.
Assists in the development and implementation of educational support strategies and plans
Performs a variety of standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, resourcing, etc., as necessary
Provides input to various educational support faculty in the implementation of various programs/procedures
Impacts own work team
Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines in accordance with established priorities, timelines, budget, etc.
Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions, and checks for understanding
Develops working relationships with internal parties and may work with external parties, as needed
Manage specialists in the distance learning environments support team, which includes generating schedules, approving timesheets, executing yearly performance evaluations, and facilitating their individual personal and professional development
Support and develop all distance and modified classroom technologies on campus, develop policies and procedures surrounding those technologies, and provide training and direct support to faculty and staff members
Develop and support content delivery services and networks for all distance programs on campus. Maintain and develop the life-cycle management program of all distance learning production and support facilities on campus
Coordinate and oversee technology resource budget, set daily priorities to meet operational objectives and offset competing priorities as well as develop a multi-year strategic plan to stay at the cutting edge of educational technology and course content delivery and technologies.
This position oversees approximately 2 staff members scheduled across two work shifts covering Media Services operations from 7:00 am-10:00 pm Mondays-Thursdays and 7:00 am-5:00 pm Fridays.

Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and/or correct standard, routine issues
May mentor or provide guidance to others in completing educational support duties
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Possesses conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the Educational Support function
Applies general knowledge of educational support techniques developed through education and experiences
Assesses courses and student information to determine if quality guidelines and desired outcomes have been met.
Performs routine to complex tasks as assigned using existing procedures
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
