This position has the responsibility for Global Safety Data Sheets and the Quality Assurance components of AMVAC’s GLP system and the associated document control supporting both of these business areas. As Global SDS Manager this position works closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization and global key stakeholders to ensure that our Chemical Hazards Communication is meeting all applicable regulatory standards in the target countries where we operate. The position is responsible for the generation and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and will be expected to author and update these documents regularly per OSHA, and other applicable standards and guidelines from the related governing organizations for our International SDSs. In parallel, the position is also responsible for the Quality Assurance Unit of AMVAC’s Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Program. In this capacity, the position is responsible for the maintenance, training, and document control of the overall GLP Program in collaboration with the personnel conducting work under the GLP Program. This position requires an individual that are highly organized, detailed oriented and able to influence and get work done through Subject Matter Experts that are part of other functions in AMVAC.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Global SDS and Chemical Hazards Communication Subject Matter Expert for AMVAC.
Global responsibility for the creation and maintenance of AMVAC SDS inventory using 3E Generate SDS authoring software.
Serve as the SDS SME in the maintenance of AMVACs SDS Management across our Production and Technology sites using 3E Protect. This is done in close cooperation with other SMEs in Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Compliance and Logistics Departments.
Work closely with our International and National Subsidiaries Sales organizations to support them in the authoring, review and maintenance of SDSs.
Function as the GLP Quality Assurance Unit for AMVAC.
This involves maintaining the GLP Program Manual, GLP personnel files, Training Records and GLP Facility to ensure it meets the required standard at all times.
Responsible for the review of GLP protocols to ensure that it meets the GLP standards, acts as Quality Assurance Unit in reviewing GLP Reports to make sure it meets the required formatting and standards.
Provide GLP Training as per the GLP Program requirements
Other duties as assigned by Management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous Safety Datasheet Authoring and high-level document control experience is strongly desired. SDSRP accreditation would serve as an added recommendation.
Chemistry background and familiarity with OSHA requirements for the creation of formulated pesticide SDSs and experience applying those requirements is strongly desired.
Knowledge of and demonstrated application of GLP requirements in a Quality Assurance capacity is highly desired.
Accuracy, thoroughness and ability to perform work while meeting quality standards is a must.
Computer literacy required; Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint). Knowledge of Database design and operation will be given additional consideration.
Ability to work with minimal supervision after initial training and appropriate orientation is required.
Must be able to pass a physical and drug test.
Must be able to pass a Department of Homeland Security approved pre-employment criminal background check.
Must be able to read, understand, and edit analytical methods and procedures as pertaining to the QAU function of the GLP Program.
Minimum of a B.S. in chemistry or closely related field; advanced Science degree preferred.
5-10 years of relevant experience.
Experience authoring and administering SDSs is required.
Experience in a GLP-regulated work environment is strongly desired.
