RISD's Procurement Services department seeks a talented, enthusiastic, experienced, and customer service oriented individual to work as an Accounts Payable Supplier Registration Specialist. Reporting to the Director of Procurement Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the supplier registration process, and maintenance of the College's master supplier records as well as providing general support to RISD's departments and external suppliers. The Accounts Payable Supplier Registration Specialist will play a key role in the successful maintenance, development and improvement of RISD's supplier database and registration process. The individual will perform and audit processes to ensure compliance with Federal/State laws and RISD policies. This position will serve as the principal contact and liaison for internal clients, departments, suppliers, and other pertinent constituencies for all items and issues related to the supplier registration process, and the Workday supplier master file, and will work with minimal supervision in a work environment of multiple and conflicting priorities.

The Procurement Services Department directly supports RISD's educational, environmental and administrative needs through the effective acquisition of, and payment for, required goods and services.
Approve new supplier/individual payee requests, create new supplier entries, and maintain existing suppliers in the College's financial system.
Contact suppliers and individuals to obtain any necessary information needed in order to set them up in the system in the appropriate manner.
Review and create complex documents, reports, etc., to assure compliance with College requirements and/or government regulations, and notifies supervisor of unusual situations; provide information, research, statistics, and analysis.
Validate that potential suppliers are not on the Federal Government's restricted party listing (Patriot Act compliance).
Validate supplier 1099/1042-S status.
Ensure that entities are properly categorized and coded.
Keep supplier file clean; i.e. remove duplicates from the file, participate in cleanup efforts.
Manage supplier filing and electronic backup process.
Monitor email@example.com account for questions and supplier update requests.
Assist with Accounts Payable day-to-day operations.
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 or more years of related experience required, preferably at a higher education or non-profit institution.
Experience with ERP system required, Workday financial system highly desirable.
Flexibility, attention to detail, and a customer service mindset are extremely important.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
Computer competency required.
Excellent communications skills. Must be comfortable communicating with all internal units as well as with suppliers and individual payees.
Time management skills.
35 hours per week, 12 months per year
