Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Part-time Program Assistant for The School of Nursing. Under direction of the Senior Student Program Coordinator and collaboration with the Associate Director for Admissions and Recruitment, for the School of Nursing, the Program Assistant will be responsible for both admissions and student engagement initiatives and functions on the New Brunswick campus. As the first point of contact for prospective students on the New Brunswick campus, this person will educate students on our programs and help them navigate through the enrollment process. Responsibilities include:
*All information sessions, initial and follow-up communications for events and individual meetings with students and families *Updating all New Brunswick information session dates on the website, making room reservations, and creating recruitment packages *Will assist the Senior Student Program Coordinator with all student engagement programs *Be responsible for creating flyers, room reservations, food orders and giveaways *Marketing all student engagement programs to current students *Assist with new student orientation as it relates to sending invites, creating lists and forms, event set-ups and website updates and in assessment strategies.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education, Social Science or a related discipline *One (1) year of related experience in a business office, government agency or university setting *Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*Ability to work independently *Strong experience with event management, program planning, implementation and evaluation *Ability to work with a diverse student population *Attention to detail and able to produce quality work *Proficient in evaluation and research *Strong organization, communication, and leadership skills *Competence in technology; proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop *Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and outgoing
Experience building strong, professional inter-departmental relationships preferred
Must have flexible work hours; evening and weekend work hours may be required
