The Division of Periodontology's priorities are patient care, service, research, and teaching at the pre-and post-doctoral levels. The School is part of the outstanding Academic Health Center, which has achieved an international reputation for research, education, and service.
Primary responsibilities of this role include clinical supervision for the Advanced Education Program in Periodontology, course directing and participation in resident didactic courses, and course directing and providing lectures for one or more courses in the predoctoral DDS program, provision of on-call services, and participation on School of Dentistry committees and governance.
The successful candidate will be an experienced clinician and instructor who will have clinical and didactic responsibilities in Advanced Education Program in Periodontics as well as the pre-doctoral clinical education program.

Required Academic Preparation
-DDS, DMD, or international equivalent degree
-Completion of a CODA accredited advanced education training program in periodontics
-Certification by the American Board of Periodontology or in the process of becoming certified by the American Board of Periodontology
-Minnesota dental license or eligible for Minnesota dental license by start of position*
* A Full Faculty License may be obtained in partnership with the School of Dentistry prior to start date if needed
-Minimum of three or more years of full-time experience as a periodontist
-IV and oral sedation certified or certification obtained within 6 months of hire
-Clinical and didactic teaching with lectures and seminars to pre-doctoral students and residents in an advanced education training program in periodontics
- Interest in advanced technologies, including laser therapy, digital dentistry, microsurgery
-Providing clinical coverage and supervision
-Providing on-call services
-Participation on committees and governance
-Participation in continuing education
-Has served as a mentor to faculty and/or students
