Director of Custom Program Development- Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business
Located at the intersection of business, government, and international relations, Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (MSB) develops principled leaders committed to serving both business and society. Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (MSB) ) is seeking a talented Director of Custom Program Development who will become a key member of the business development and client relationship management team. He/She will be responsible for engaging as part of a team and individually with corporate partners and faculty to build and deliver short term and long-term executive education offerings for non-credit programs. A critical success criterion for this position is to work with the Associate Dean and Assistant Dean to 'close' contracts with clients and manage the program development and delivery process. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Executive Education, the Director of Custom Program Development has the following principal duties:
Business Development, Program Design
Proactively reach out to new prospective clients.
Work with the Assistant Dean and Associate Dean to define the deliverable elements of custom executive education programs, including program curricula, pedagogical format and delivery methods, number of participants for optimal learning, schedules, classroom facilities, accommodations/meals, pricing, logistical support, and special speakers/events.
Provide feedback on client needs and expectations, participate in faculty meetings and provide constructive feedback from the client and students upon the completion of the program.
Be accessible to participants during the on-campus program delivery and special events.
Coordinate with program managers to accomplish tasks necessary for high-quality program delivery.
Coordinate timely and accurate client contracts.
Coordinate with faculty and program delivery staff to ensure the following: program deliverables and schedules are well understood and well supported, education-related materials are high-quality and delivered on-time, and accommodations, classrooms, work rooms, catering space and other program spaces are scheduled appropriately, and quality assessments are completed and reviewed and relevant learnings are incorporated into other executive education programs.
Marketing and Sales
Contribute to and help maintain a database of prospective and current client contacts. Assist in the delivery of a series of marketing events (e.g., Breakfast Briefings, classroom visits, alumni networking events, web presentations).
Coordinate and collaborate with other MSB offices to leverage resources.
In consultation with clients / program sponsors, faculty, Associate Dean and others (as needed), work with Custom Program and MSB marketing staff to help write and refine custom executive education proposals.
Maintain a database of program proposals and proposal-development materials.
Work with Custom Program and MSB marketing staff to coordinate placement of advertisements, direct mail, PR and other announcement in various media outlets.
Executive Education Office Management
Keep the Associate Dean of Executive Education informed of actions and activities relevant to the effective administration and growth of Georgetown's custom executive education programs (including sales activities and prospective client pipeline status).
Accurately track program-level revenue forecast and expense budgets against actual revenue and expenditures on a monthly basis.
At least 4 years post-graduate experience in higher education or professional services.
Enrollment in or completion of an MBA or equivalent Master's degree are strongly encouraged.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
