Reporting to the AVP for Human Resources, this position will manage the University’s comprehensive benefit and leave programs. Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, data analysis and verification within HR information systems, managing all aspects of the open enrollment process, providing exemplary customer service to a diverse population, serving as the subject matter expert for benefit related questions or issues, assisting with benefit-related communications, and managing vendors.
Demonstrated experience in benefit administration and HR information systems. Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations to resolve issues; strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills; and ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds on all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information and materials. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Experience with current office software and database programs to produce reports and analyze data to support University and HR programs and initiatives.
Extensive experience in benefit, retirement, and leave programs. Experience with HR information systems such as PeopleAdmin, Banner, PMIS, BES, VNAV. Relevant experience in higher education or state government. Supervisory experience. HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) desirable.
