Akron Children's has earned Best Children's Hospitals rankings by US News & World Report for 2019-2020 in neonatology, pediatric gastroenterology/GI surgery, pediatric neurology/neurosurgery, pediatric orthopedics, pediatric pulmonology/lung surgery, and pediatric urology.
The pharmacy practice residency is designed to provide experiences leading to focused knowledge and practice skill in the pharmacotherapeutic care of pediatric patients. Required rotations include Academia/Precepting, Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Disease, Drug Information/Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Emergency Medicine, General Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology, Medication Safety, NICU, PICU, and Pharmacy Administration. Residents complete the NEOMD Teaching Certificate program, a research project, and quality improvement projects. Residents who successfully complete this program are well prepared for specialized residencies, fellowships, or other career opportunities.
Requirements for application include a Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy or equivalent experience and Ohio licensure by October 1st, 2020.
