Functional Compliance Consultant VP Financial Investigation Unit, Special Investigations
The Functional Compliance Consultant supports the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), which is responsible for investigating suspicious activity which may be indicative of money laundering.
Propose and undertake pro-active, targeted, deep dive investigations into State Streets exposure to emerging money laundering risks (separate from the day to day investigation of automated transaction monitoring alerts and cases);
Lead the investigation of complex and significant money laundering cases identified by State Streets AML program, particularly where such cases may indicate a wider State Street exposure to the relevant money laundering typology;
Undertake transactional analysis of client and investor transactions in support of AML Compliance Risk Assessment projects;
Produce investigation reports setting out the methodology for, and results of, the investigations and analyses referred to above;
Present the results of the investigations and analyses referred to above to senior management, regulators and other stakeholders;
Work with the AML Compliance Innovation and Technology team to help direct the development of State Streets transaction monitoring strategy and assess the effectiveness of new functionality and features;
Bachelors degree or equivalent with focus in business, accounting, finance, or economics required.
ACAMS Certification preferred
Skills and Experience:
10+ years of relevant investigative and analytical experience in the banking, financial services, broker dealer or other related industry;
Ability to propose, plan and execute efficient and effective investigations;
Ability to understand complex banking products and processes and assess possible associated money laundering risks;
Pro-active, enquiring mindset;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in particular the ability to summarize complex investigations, draw key conclusions and present those conclusions to senior management and regulators;
Comfortable working with and directing data driven analytics teams in support of investigations, and ability to work with large transactional data sets;
Ability to work with a range of stakeholders across State Streets corporate functions and business units;
Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, Power Point)
Comfortable working under pressure and with hard deadlines
