The Common Community Program Manager is responsible for working with staff, interns and volunteers to provide direct supportive services and targeted referrals to clients of Common Pantry.
Common Community Services:
Coordinate and supervise the implementation of all supportive social services to clients. Manage a team of dedicated Common Community volunteers and student interns with support from executive director. Identify clients who have a need that might qualify for Common Pantry’s I Am Your Neighbor Housing Assistance Fund. Manage process through completion, including completing all necessary paperwork and coordinating the logistics of providing financial assistance. Manage client interactions and address clients’ needs through direct service delivery and referral services. Manage all client data, case notes and complete required monthly reporting. This includes database entries, detailed report spreadsheets and monthly service summaries. Ensure each client is treated with dignity and respect and attend to any client grievances. Maintain confidentiality of client information in all written, oral, or electronic forms. Serve as a task supervisor to interns, providing support, education and training during their placements.
Community Partners/Peers: Maintain updated list of available external resources for targeted referrals, including accurate information on government benefit programs and social service organizations who provide assistance with housing, employment, and healthcare, medical, dental, and legal needs. Actively engage with community partners and peers through meetings and events; create a network of contacts for referrals. Oversee weekly community lunch and volunteers; maintain calendar of partner organizations to table. Share information on activities/events hosted by community partners/peers that are relevant to Common Pantry clients.
Pantry Operations: Meet with our Common Kids group to help administer quarterly programming and food, supply and gift drives. Actively participate in weekly team status meetings with Director and meet with the Board or Directors, as requested. Attend monthly board meetings when the Director is unable to do so. Assist Common Pantry Operations Coordinator and volunteer management, as needed. Oversee 3 monthly home delivery routes, coordinating volunteer schedules as well as assessing potential home delivery clients.
Requirements/Specifications: Master of Social Work (MSW) or a related field required. At least two years’ work experience in a non-profit setting preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Knowledge of and experience practicing Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care & Motivational Interviewing required. Experience working with vulnerable populations. Knowledge of housing programs, housing instability, and homeless services required. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of grant writing and small nonprofit development preferred. Ability to work independently. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Strong organizational skills required. Bilingual / bi-cultural preferred. Proven ability to collaborate successfully across diverse cultural and social communities. Working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel; agency related data management and CRM experience preferred though not required. A current Food Service Manager Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. Ability to lift 45 lbs.
