Providing administrative support in a deadline driven, customer service environment to the Shared Services Payroll team.
Apply knowledge and understanding of general payroll functions and government regulations to provide analysis and clerical support so the payroll can function in a seamless manner.
Responding to employee inquiries while delivering quality customer service in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Auditing and validating payroll deductions, time entries, accrual balances and reviewing various other payroll audit reports.
Working within University HR/Payroll system and the University Financial Accounting System.
Submitting payment requests through our Accounts Payable system for Payroll processing (union payments, garnishments, etc.).
Processing monthly and biweekly expense transfers and payroll allocation updates.
Distributing biweekly and monthly payroll reports.
Monitoring and facilitating the Payroll assigned service tickets.
Ensures standard payroll documents are filed in secured file cabinets.
Responds to all payroll and timekeeping questions and inquiries from employees and managers and facilitates action to find resolution.
Communicates and follows up with employees and managers regarding payroll issues in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintains employee confidentiality and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Communicates and works effectively with Human Resources to review cross-departmental responsibilities and reconciles information accordingly.
Ensures data reflects accurate information including current wages, benefit deductions and PTO accruals.
Supports the Director with various administrative tasks as assigned.
Superior computer skills including Microsoft Office software (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets).
Excellent customer service, communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
Coordinate and maintain multiple tasks simultaneously as well as deliver responses and results within established time frames.
Education, Experience or Certifications
High School diploma or equivalent required
At least one year experience in Payroll (preferred) Experience in a Higher Education setting (preferred)
Experience with Workday (preferred)

Pay Range: $17.28 - $25.30
