| The Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Rowan University is seeking applicants to fill an assistant professor tenure-track position in Cultural Anthropology beginning September 1, 2020. All areas of specialization will be considered, including (but not limited to) gender, religion, Native American. Applicants must be willing to teach undergraduate, graduate, and online courses, produce scholarly research, and be committed to department and university service. The successful candidate will be expected to seek external funding for research and participate in departmental initiatives such as creation of new curriculums, the development and teaching of online courses, interdisciplinary programs, and the offering of programs at multiple campuses. Class size is 35 students or less. A 3/3 teaching load is guaranteed for the first five years and can be renewed annually after the 6th year and attaining tenure with evidence of continuing scholarship. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in Anthropology, or ABD with a firm date of completion, a clear research agenda and a strong commitment to quality teaching and active service.
