Your role Do you know how to keep an eye on risks and how to monitor them? Are you interested in engaging closely with business stakeholders and helping them to manage risks?
We're looking for a Business Risk Specialist to:
act as trusted partner, challenge and support the regional Head of the segment Global Financial Intermediaries (Global FIM) in managing the risks related to the Global FIM business in Singapore and Hong Kong.
provide senior management with consolidated and holistic view of the risks within their area or responsibility including proposing risk mitigating / remediation measures to keep the risks within tolerance level
monitor and assess the risk management and control framework for completeness and adequacy, perform controls and operational risk assessments and closely work with Global FIM business risk colleagues for providing locations' risk metrics and qualitative risk information
drive and/or support the implementation of risk initiatives within Global FIM in particular in Singapore and Hong Kong
design and deliver relevant and practical segment specific training to business colleagues to further develop risk awareness and culture
maintain relationships with other risk functions (e.g. local Business Risk Organization, Compliance) to help them with specific expertise as well as clarify and understand risk issues arising in the locations
Your team You'll be working in the Global Financial Intermediaries Business Risk Organization team based in Hong Kong and reporting locally to the Global FIM Head APAC. Our team is responsible for maintaining a global framework over the business sector with Financial Intermediaries. We provide risk assessment and risk support to the business owners as well as run the risk governance processes within the business sector. Being a global segment, we make sure that risk functions across the locations fully understand our risk framework and help them with our expertise. We aim to be a trusted partner for the business owners and support them in effectively managing risks. As a Business Risk Specialist, you'll play an important role in delivering our mandate towards business owners and various stakeholders.
a university degree or higher education qualification
experience in the Wealth Management business with track record in a risk function (e.g. business risk management, risk control, audit, compliance)
high sense of responsibility, take the initiative to drive things forward
great interpersonal skills and pro-active in engaging with stakeholders
strong analytical skills, able to connect the dots and seek practical solutions
reliable when working independently with sound judgment for when and how to escalate issues
ability to prioritize and work effectively in a rapidly changing environment with the capacity to proactively anticipate, identify, prevent and resolve issues
team-oriented while being a strong leader
well-organized and able to manage a multitude of tasks
proficient in Microsoft Office in particular Excel and Access
Fluent in English given the requirement of the job nature
