Trade Control and Product Regulatory Specialist (1903026) - Beachwood, OH
Where the Chemistry Happens
The Trade Control and Product Regulatory Specialist is responsible for assisting in the management of all related activities required for a compliant set up of Trade Control. Needs to be familiar with all relevant Trade Control regulations to be able to evaluate the materials in business scope, to identify the Trade Control needs for the company and to comply with the various trade control regulations and reporting obligations.
Trade Control : Assuring that exports, imports, domestic trade of goods, technologies, services comply with respective international conventions and national laws (e.g. chemical weapons convention, dual use, embargoes)
Customs Classification : Defining global HS Code, respectively Customs Tariff #, for chemical and non-chemical products)
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
Bachelor's Degree with 6 or more years of experience in Supply Chain and/or Regulatory and/or Procurement or equivalent
Chemistry background a plus
Experience dealing with U.S. Customs and other government regulatory agencies desired
Experience in handling Import/Export Shipments Air/Sea/Truck a plus but not required
Knowledge of U.S Export Controls (BIS, OFAC, and ITAR) a plus but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge and/or experience with SAP is desirable
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work on a team.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
