About the Investment Banking Support Group The Investment Banking Support Group (IBSG) sits within the GIB. We work closely with the firm's EMEA Investment Banking teams, preparing materials for use both in client marketing and project execution. Your work in IBSG will encompass the full suite of investment banking products (mergers & acquisitions, equity capital raising and debt capital raising - both investment grade and high yield), sometimes in relation to the same situation. The Investment Banking Support Analyst Role The Investment Banking Support Analyst's main responsibilities will include:
Financial analysis: Analysis and interpretation of financial statements including company benchmarking, preparing trading and transaction comparable analyses, modelling projected operating and financial performance for business valuations.
Research: Sourcing and interpreting company & industry sector information from a variety of data sources (company reports, online databases, J.P. Morgan proprietary content, internet) with the aim of forming sector and individual company views. Summarising and synthesising news updates/research reports on priority clients and for weekly industry sector reports.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
A well-rounded academic background from a top tier educational institution.
Strong quantitative and business writing skills.
Knowledge of analysing company financials and financial modelling in excel is an advantage (but will be taught).
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver quality work under pressure.
Being self-directed and highly motivated.
