The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Missouri - Kansas City seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, starting in August 2020. We are open to any area of extragalactic astronomy or cosmology (theory/simulation/observation), with a preference for applicants whose interests complement and/or broaden our existing strengths in observational studies of galaxies and galaxy clusters. UMKC faculty engage in research, teaching, and service. Position responsibilities include developing a vigorous program of externally-funded research in astrophysics, mentoring of PhD students, and teaching astronomy and physics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy or a closely related field and a strong record of published research.
