Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Assistant for the Information Systems & Technology Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Program Assistant position is to provide a wide variety of administrative and support services for the Office of Information Systems & Technology. Assists in the planning and support of program activities. Coordinates office operations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists in maintenance of financial records and monitors and facilitates financial transactions for the department/project.
Administers the computer hardware purchasing queue and life cycle replacement program.
Processes and tracks purchasing requests for desktop/laptop/tablet purchases.
Creates and maintains and/or compiles data for special projects, reports, analyses, monthly reports, program evaluations and other related reports within prescribed guidelines.
Assists in the planning, developing, and conduct of analytical studies of existing operations and routines to determine feasibility for automation of tasks using existing business software and data analytics tools.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Public or Business Administration, the Social Sciences or a related field, plus one (1) year of professional level experience in a business office, government agency, or university setting.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
