The Biology Department at the Virginia Military Institute invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the lecturer/instructor level for the 2019-2020 academic year. This is a full-timeposition with an expectation of teaching primarily Core Curriculum, non-major biology courses. Teaching load is up to three courses with laboratories per semester, with the possibility of some advising duties.
Minimum requirements are a master’s degree or equivalent in the biological sciences and teaching experience at the college level. The successful candidate will serve under a one to three year, renewable contract, depending on experience.
Full-time faculty at VMI wear uniforms and adhere to military customs and courtesies during the academic year, but military experience is not required. VMI is a small, highly rated undergraduate institution with a strong emphasis on teaching and undergraduate research.
