Main purpose of role: You will lead the large Change Management and Technology function in Europe, optimizing our Technology and Change programs, whilst in tandem ensuring we have the appropriate organizational design to complement same. Your function will work closely with Operations, our Joint Venture partners and other Joint Venture companies to promote and secure the ongoing growth and development of IFDS Europe, supporting strategic new business opportunities alongside existing business needs.
You will have overall oversight and responsibility for delivery of robust and stable solutions for both internal and external regulatory, change management and technology projects that will meet the requirements of the client and operational Programs specifications and you will be accountable for appropriate updates to and approvals from the Board in relation to program strategy, direction, risk and resources.
You will be expected to plan and direct the department's activities with a major focus on organizational strategy, regulatory change and compliance, change management, resource planning and development, client relationship management and risk management and reduction.
Oversee all aspects of Change and Technology function's departments and programs and operational delivery including developing and realising strategy and vision, planning, resourcing, relationship management, budgeting, regulatory compliance.
Lead and oversee the organization of functional activities within the assigned departments / programs ensuring that client and operational requirements are met on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of the client;
Identify, assess, and mitigate function risks as appropriate;
Provide feedback to Program stakeholders and internal sponsors on all measurable aspects of the program
Ensure regulatory and internal standards compliance for all functional teams and individuals
Act as the senior escalation point for priority issues or obstacles
Ensure function success by overseeing day-to-day operations through the application of best practice in change and program management principles and methodologies;
Maintain regular communication with all team members and stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve issues, which may impede progress or compromise achievement of functional or program objectives;
Regular reviews of functional and program status, activities and tasks, risk and issues on each program to present to Business Boards, Heads of Business and major project stakeholders;
Work closely with Head of Business and Talent Acquisition to ensure all approved project initiatives are resourced accurately and timely;
Make recommendations on program prioritization and resource management;
Provide feedback from a post-completion analysis of all projects;
Work with the functional teams to define and update standards (including regulatory)and processes and contribute to continuous improvements within the team;
Provide management direction to and support development of Heads of Departments, setting performance priorities expectations;
Using corporate performance tools, actively participate in the performance appraisal process and monitor overall timeliness of completion for the entire function with your direct reports
Provide training, coaching, mentoring and facilitate career and development planning to Heads of Department and others within your function and the great organisation where applicable
Develop and maintain robust succession plans for your function, ensuring appropriate knowledge transfer mechanisms are applied and effective.

Ensure that procedures, policies and processes are adhered to so that a high quality service is delivered to the customer. Drive procedural changes to improve performance of the department or of related business areas
Responsible for the ownership, management and development of client, vendor, audit and regulatory body relationships, as required
Understand the risk environment within the department and manage appropriately. Promote risk awareness, assessment and control within the department:

Initiate and oversee tasks within a continuous improvement drive to ensure that the Department is efficient and seen as customer and quality driven;

To comply with the regulatory regimes in which IFDS operates, with particular consideration given to relevant Client Asset, Data Protection and Financial Crime Prevention regulations, as appropriate to the above role
Skills and Experience required
Extensive experience at CIO level, leading a large change and / or technology function;
Expert working knowledge of :
Software Development Life Cycle
Infrastructure, including desktop, virtualization and networking technologies
Messaging technologies including SWIFT
Industry trends including competitor analysis
Peers / competitors
Financial management including program / project finance
Demonstrated high level of experience and successful track record in Technology/Business Change leadership across solution design and delivery in financial services, ideally in Funds.
Sound procedural, technical and product knowledge of the Transfer Agency business. This should be complemented with a strong understanding of Fund Accounting, Custody and Regulatory background in the Funds Industry.
Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task, working to tight deadlines, calmly under pressure.
Fluent written and verbal English language essential.
Demonstrated Management skills, including remote management and matrix line management.
Senior Stakeholder Management to Board level, including presentation of Business Plans, Cases, program updates, risk assessments and demonstrations.
Experience working in a multi-national, multi-cultural environment ideally crossing time-zones.
