Hiring Department Geosciences & Geological & Petroleum Engineering Application Deadline Posted until filled with review of applications to begin November 18, 2019 Full Time/Part Time Full Time (1.0 FTE) Job Description Post-Doctoral Fellow/Researcher: Water Resources Research The Department of Geosciences and Geological and Petroleum Engineering (GGPE) at the Missouri University of Science and Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in water resources research to begin in January 2020. The candidate will work closely with Dr. David Borrok on projects related to water budgets, water quality/geochemistry, water sustainability, flooding, and similar water management issues. Relevant qualifications include experience working with chemical data, large databases, and geospatial software and tools. The successful applicant will be expected to write manuscripts, present scientific papers, and mentor students. They will also have the opportunity to write research grants and, if interested, gain teaching experience. Support will be provided to attend scientific meetings. A Ph.D. in the Geosciences or a closely-related field at the time of hire is required. Rolla, Missouri is home to the USGS Center of Excellence for Geospatial Information Science and the National Geospatial Technical Operations Center, which provide many opportunities for collaboration with USGS scientists.
