Position summary: Manage all of the employee benefit programs for the College.Â
General purpose: The Benefits Manager will manage and maintain MICAâs benefits plans. The duties would include assisting and providing employees answers to various benefit related questions, and compliance on all benefits programs.Â
Summary of Essential Functions:Â â¢Â Â Â Maintain all benefits programs to ensure compliance with stated rules and laws. â¢Â Â Â Administer FML, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability leaves/benefits. â¢Â Â Â Participate in the development and implementation of benefits plans and future benefits changes and enhancements. â¢Â Â Â Provide technical guidance and communicates accurate information on all benefits plans and programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Â â¢Â Â Â Implement and coordinate benefits programs â¢Â Â Â Ensures compliance with applicable legislation and policy on case by case basis â¢Â Â Â Manage the integrity, accuracy, and confidentially of the benefits data â¢Â Â Â Manage to benefit data to ensure accurate and timely transfer of information to vendors via HRIS integrationsÂ â¢Â Â Â Manage relationships with brokers and benefit contacts â¢Â Â Â Manage ACA compliance including but not limited to analysis of hours worked and associated reporting requirements â¢Â Â Â Manage the 403(b)-retirement plan including all compliance and audit related activity â¢Â Â Â Respond to 403(b) inquiries from employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manage the annual catch-up contribution enrollment. â¢Â Â Â Primary contact for annual retirement auditÂ â¢Â Â Â Manage new hire benefit enrollment and employee benefit changes â¢Â Â Â Manage annual open enrollment process including coordination with brokers, communications and benefit fair â¢Â Â Â Responsible for interpreting, analyzing and recommending solutions to more unusual or unique problems which are less well defined and have substantial impact on the College. â¢Â Â Â Provides general guidance regarding the impact on benefits of changes in employment status such as leave of absence, return to work, separation, etc. â¢Â Â Â Develops recommendations for internal procedures and recommends updates. â¢Â Â Â Research and respond to complex benefit related questions and inquiries â¢Â Â Â Promote benefits through different mediums such as newsletters, trainings, presentations, social media, etc.Â â¢Â Â Â Stay current and ensure compliance with changing federal and state regulations and legislation that may affect employee benefits â¢Â Â Â Review benefits plans to ensure offerings are equitable and competitive â¢Â Â Â Develop, implement and manage College wellness program â¢Â Â Â Perform quality checks of all benefit related data â¢Â Â Â Manage Tuition Remission and Tuition Exchange programs including verification of eligibility and processing requests â¢Â Â Â Functions as project lead and subject matter expert in implementations for benefit projects as needed â¢Â Â Â Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:Â â¢Â Â Â Bachelorâs Degree â¢Â Â Â Proven HR benefit administration experience
Preferred Qualifications:Â â¢Â Â Â Masterâs Degree â¢Â Â Â PHR or SHRM-CP Certification â¢Â Â Â Benefit plan experience or insurance knowledgeÂ â¢Â Â Â Experience working in Higher EducationÂ â¢Â Â Â Workday experience
