Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Unit is seeking an Assistant Extension Professor of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery. This is a twelve-month, Extension Title Series, tenure-track position at the University of Kentucky with an academic appointment in the Department of Family Sciences. The anticipated distribution of effort is 85% Extension and 15% teaching (one course per year).
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in substance use prevention and recovery; is expected to provide leadership in planning, delivering, and evaluating research-based substance use prevention and recovery Extension programming, as well as develop educational materials, develop and conduct in-service training for county agents, and collaborate with resident faculty and other Extension specialists, county agents, and state-wide substance use stakeholders to address the substance related needs of diverse families; implement applied research relative to the needs of Kentucky families and publish findings in refereed journals; seek extramural funding for projects that enhance the lives of Kentucky families; and participate in departmental and collegiate governance and professional organizations.
