Reporting to the Program Manager/Advertising Manager, the Student Life Website and Social MediaSpecialist 2 supports students, faculty and community through building and maintaining Student Lifewebsites and developing and troubleshooting online tools for business. Provides technicalexpertise and support to staff and student leaders in Student Programs, Athletics and Housing.
This position oversees communications and social media for Student Programs, Housing and Athletics incollaboration with the directors and professional staff of these units; Provides graphic designguidance for departmental events and initiatives; Serves as the Sharepoint Siteadministrator and technology contact for the Student Life to include Student Programs, Athleticsand Housing. Additionally, this position plays an integral role on the Student Programs team,supporting and planning events, and promoting the departmental vision and mission while developingand contributing to departmental goals.

POSITION DUTIES Technology Support and Graphic Design Maintain and design forms, applications, website content for Student Programs, Housing andAthletics. Create images and videos that are optimized for use across Web and Social Media accounts. Maintain tracking system for work requests, workflow, projected timelines and deadlines forsubmittal and review. Create online business tools, forms, applications, and processes and manage form data and workflowsusing WordPress, Gravity Flow and other tools. Work with supervisor and Watchdog student staff to troubleshoot issues related to Watchdog staff'suse of the site and monitor activity on the site. In collaboration with staff who oversee Student Volunteer Center, Student Business Center, and select student organizations,assist with management of social media presence. Manage user access, roles and permissions, and training students in web design software andplugins. Build and maintain the Associated Student Government Elections website; monitor and report election results. Mentoring/Advising Advise professional staff and student leaders who maintain social media accounts and websites. Train students and advisors in website design software and in themes and plugins to foster thegrowth of their club and program websites on the Student Web. Serve on hiring committees for student employees. Supervise part-time student workers. Other In collaboration with the directors and professional staff maintains social media presence for the Student Programs, Housing and Athletics. Design and write targeted HTML newsletters and email blasts using applicable software platforms. Edit and post photos and videos of events for marketing and promotion of Student Programs events. Update college calendar with Student Life related events in collaboration with directors and theprofessional staff of Housing, Athletics and Student Programs. As part of the Student Programs team, plans, manages and assesses departmental signature events andinitiatives. Serve as technology contact for the Office of Student Programs. Create and administer Sharepoint sites for the offices within Student Programs, and assist groups withSharepoint Groups. Design Sharepoint site layout and sections for content, and create and update web and wiki. Manage user roles and permissions for private and public facing sections of Sharepoint sites. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent education and experience. Two (2) yearsprofessional experience managing and maintaining social media. Professional experience building and managing websites in a higher education environment orequivalent. Two (2) years' experience in training and mentoring. Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, staff and faculty of diverse ages,backgrounds, and abilities, etc. Attention to detail and accuracy of work. Organized, ability to multitask in high pressured, time sensitive environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional experience with the software systems such as Team Dynamics, Canvas. Professionalexperience in coding with HTML, CSS. Professional experience building and managing websites in a higher education environment, stronglyproficient at customizing workflows and demonstrated experience using short codes and plug ins,platforms including but not limited to WordPress. Experience with client engagement tools such as MailChimp and Survey Monkey. One or more years professional experience designing for print using Adobe lnDesign and manipulatingimages using Photoshop. Experience designing content for SharePoint and administering SharePoint sites. Web designexperience in both Apple and Windows environments.
