This is a limited term position ending November 30, 2022. This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.
The Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, the only graduate school of nutrition in the United States, is dedicated to passionately advancing nutritional well-being for people worldwide through excellence in research and teaching and the shaping of public policy. The School enrolls 350 graduate students, awarding certificates (five on-line programs) and MA, MS, and PhD degrees (8 degree programs and 4 combined degree programs). Faculty and researchers conduct research in three buildings on Tufts Boston campus, supported by substantial external grants and contracts from federal sponsors, private foundations, and generous donors. Administrative staff supports the School's mission of research, teaching, and public service. The School's alumni are international leaders in nutrition science and policy in government, industry, and non-profit organizations world-wide.
This project, led by faculty at the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy Friedman School at Tufts University, aims to develop, implement, and evaluate the efficacy of an innovative intervention strategy to integrate nutrition into standard oncology care in improving outcomes of the vulnerable patient population with lung cancer. The strategy adapts and implements an evidence-based framework to streamline oncology patients into nutritional care, by providing nutrition prescription, nutrition counseling, and medically tailored meals to vulnerable lung cancer patients. This three-year randomized controlled intervention trial will be conducted among vulnerable lung cancer patients recruited from four U.S. medical centers: Tufts Medical Center; Fox Chase Cancer Center; MD Anderson Cancer Center; and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Project Administrator provides specialized, subject matter knowledge to develop, implement, review and evaluate a university Program or Project in collaboration with Manager or Director. Participates in development of goals and strategies; creates data management and filing systems; develops, analyzes and monitors budgets, grants and contracts; and participates in development and implements marketing and advertising efforts including writing content for website and social media material. May design and represent program externally at conferences, meetings and events. Conducts research and drafts reports and results. May oversee recruitment and management of study subjects. May provide advice and counseling to students. Coordinates hiring and training of staff, students and temporary help.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 3+ years of related experience OR Master's degree and 1-2 years related experience.
Master's degree in related discipline and 3+ years of experience in related field of study.
Discretion, tact, and excellent judgement.
Experience supporting high-level research and/or faculty members and their research.
