Duties of Position
Assists with compliance and administrative activities of federal and state grant programs and agencies. Interprets and communicates policies and procedures within area of grant compliance. Interprets sponsor and funder requirements, guidelines, policies and/or practices for grantees; serves as a central resource for federal regulations and requirements governing grants
Serves as a central resource for compliance of grants management, including federal rules and regulations, internal policies, and sub-recipient monitoring; keeps abreast of changing compliance regulations.
Analyzes, interprets, and applies Federal, State, Local Government, and private funder’s statutes, rules, and regulations regarding grant administration and implements related college-wide processes.
Supports project teams on proposal and budget preparation as requested focusing on allowable expenditures, the project budget, and special terms and conditions, particularly for those involving federal funds.
Conducts monthly monitoring meetings with project directors to review fiscal and performance activities and provides information to project directors for corrective action when needed.
Maintains compliance tracking metrics and database for all active grants and proposals, including tracking compliance with grant reporting requirements, as well as monitoring grant periods and spending trends and projections.
Works with the Director of Grants to identify needs and develop tools, processes, and trainings to support the effective and consistent application of program and grants management policies across campus.
Coordinates with program teams executing grants and programs, including ongoing communication about grant requirements; keeps project teams and Director of Grants informed of any projected inabilities to meet contractual obligations.
Monitors grant budgets for proper use of funds; ensures compliance with agency requirements regarding purchasing regulations, equipment inventory, and closing documents.
Ensures deadlines are met for monthly, quarterly, annual, and close-out reporting.
Maintains on-site file system to ensure accurate filing, compliant data storage, and general organization of grant master files.
Represents and/or serve on various committees and attend College meetings as directed.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree preferred.
Three years’ experience in grant/contract administration, regulatory compliance, and grant proposal writing, including technical and budget proposal development. Strong analytical and research skills needed to gather and analyze data and to interpret and explain College policies and procedures, grant processes, and funder requirements. High-level organizational skills and detail oriented, including prioritization of duties, time management, resource management, ability to meet deadlines, and effectively handle multiple projects concurrently. Advanced computer skills, including ability to gather and manipulate data and experience with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel). Ability to interact professionally and thoughtfully with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of an organization from all levels of education, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences. Ability to supervise, train, and develop student employees.
