As a venerable and enduring enterprise, MetLife has abundant data sources across multiple business units as well as partnerships with external sources of data. Technology has enabled the delivery of high volumes of data for wide ranging data consumption patterns including realtime and analytical. With this demand, supply, and technical capability, the challenge of data fitness and data quality management emerges as foundational.
Meeting this challenge is critical for the success of MetLife’s Digital transformation. Our group is responsible for developing processes, solutions, and standing up operational teams to address this challenge.
Our group is just establishing its footing but has already become core to both the delivery and operational data support of large-scale data hub solutions to enable multi-channel solutions. Our group will work with teams from end to end on the data supply chain to instill data quality management practices. We need innovative thinkers that can understand both the big picture as well as project details with a focus on the role of data.

Progress and harden framework requirements for ensuring data quality is managed according to defined criteria and SLA’s. Requires partnership with data quality/governance teams, project development teams, and engineering teams to understand the data supply and consumption expectations and implementation designs.
Establish data quality management metrics and scorecards for executive leadership. These metrics most demonstrate that the required levels of quality and fitness are tracked through the data flow.
Partner with data issues management resources to create a closed loop process for continuous improvement for data quality management. Partner with change management lead to instill data quality management criteria as gates for the coordinated change management process.
Lead direct and indirect cross functional teams to achieve data quality management objectives. Support evolving and next generation initiatives for on-going, proactive-focused, and efficient data fitness and data quality management requirements.
Ensure that project commitments for enhancement, maintenance, and regulatory projects are met, on time, on budget, and with acceptable quality, while also ensuring that employee billable utilization targets are met. Ensure that the group’s budgets for software development, infrastructure, application maintenance, and compliance and regulatory activities are appropriately estimated and submitted for approval; ensure that budgets for infrastructure and vendor expenses are properly managed.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Ten plus years of Software Development experience
Five plus years’ experience in data focused roles (Business Intelligence, Database, ETL, BIG Data Solutions)
Demonstrated experience with people management and financial management (including budget, forecasting, and financial planning activities)
Demonstrated experience in business partner management
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
Deep technical expertise in one or more areas within BIG Data Solutions, Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence, Master Data Management, Application Development, Database Administration, or ETL.
Demonstrated experience leading teams through technical and/or organizational change.
PMP, ITIL certification
